Welcome to Year 6 - Neptune!
W/c Monday 8th June
This week in Neptune Class, we have been learning about African masks and the reasons why they are used in African culture. They are used to protect families, celebrate harvest, help to communicate with the dead and in traditional rituals, as well as a number of other reasons. We drew a mask design and transferred it on to a 3D mask. We have started painting them and can't wait for to finish and wear them. We will post some pictures, when we have finished. We have also been learning about algebra and feel much more confident with it now.
KILVE COURT RESIDENTIAL - 16.10.19 - 18.10.19
Wow! We had an amazing time at Kilve. We immersed ourselves in all of the activities, which included climbing, a high ropes course, rifle shooting, lots of walking, grass sledging and a number of team building challenges. We used teamwork and communication skills to solve problems systematically and some of us demonstrated fantastic leadership qualities to guide the group in the right direction. We encouraged each other and were constantly positive, showing ourselves as good team players. When faced with challenges, we showed resilience and determination to overcome them, as well as the confidence to try new things. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zones and we all have some fantastic memories to look back on and enjoy.
