On Wednesday evening, a group of year 6s went to Puriton Primary School to compete in a football match. The game was played in good spirit with both teams working hard for each other, playing some great football at the same time. Puriton started well with a couple of early goals but we worked our way back into it with a few fantastic goals. Puriton proved to be too strong in the end, edging us out 11-8. The children represented the school in a positive way and they should be really proud of themselves. Well done guys!
On Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th November, a number of Year 6 pupils took part in the Bikeability Course, delivered by Somerset Road Safety. The course involved the children completing a number of technical skills and road safety theory lessons, before venturing out on the road. Whilst on the road, pupils learned how to complete a number of maneuvers safely, including a U-turn and entering and exiting a junction. The children listened well and responded to the instructors positively, which enabled them to make good progress. Well done guys!
On Thursday 21st November, a team of year 6 athletes made their way to Blake School to compete in an indoor athletics event against a number of other local schools. There were 14 events in total and the children were fantastic. They encouraged each other throughout, represented the school in a positive way and competed well in the events, which resulted in a fifth place finish. Some of the events included were the 4 x 1 lap relay, chest push, standing long, vertical jump and many more. It was a fantastic event and as a school, we are really proud of the children and their efforts.
Triathlon - 16.10.19
On Wednesday 16th October, the whole school took part in a fundraising triathlon, which consisted of a run, a jump and a dance. The children encouraged each other positively and pushed themselves to do as much as possible, whilst having fun with their peers. There was a fantastic atmosphere around the school and lots of money was raised, which will be used to support learning opportunities in each of the classes.
