Happy Children, Successful Learners, Confident Individuals

This week, we are learning about Pollution in our environment.  Prior to this week, the children have learnt about pollution in the ocean and deforestation and how this has an impact on the animals.

Below i have attached the story of the week, please read this to your child, discuss what is happening and encourage your child to retell you the story. Once you have done this you can:

. encourage the children to write a sentence about the impacts of littering on the environment.

. write a caption about the pictures added below.

. watch Somebody Swallowed Stanley on youtube, discuss what happened to the animals and how we can help by recycling. Discuss where rubbish goes, which bin does it belong in and what our waste is made from. Discuss what happens to the recycling after it is taken from your home. Where does it go? and what happens to it? Use youtube links to support.

Learning intentions:

. i can write sentence using my phonetic knowledge (remember this does not need to be spelt correctly as long as you can be sounded it out, it is correct ).

. I discuss what happens in the story,  what the story is about, what is the problem and what happens at the end of the story.
