COVID-19 Home Learning

26/4/20 Hi Year 5, I hope you enjoyed your learning last week. This week, the learning has been put on 'Teams'. You should have received a letter last week with details on how to access it. I hope you are your families are all well. Miss Clear.
Here is a timetable for Summer 1 Week 1 (week beginning 20/4/20). Please look at this first to give you idea of what learning to complete this week. It is up to you and your adults to decide how and when you complete it. Please do not worry if there are some parts you cannot access or do. Just do your best. You need a user name and password for the Espresso website; Miss Crookes will let you have it when she calls this week. Remember to enjoy your learning. Hope you and your family are well, Miss Clear.

3/4/20 Earth Class, I hope you have a good two weeks of home schooling and enjoyed being with your families. There are now the two weeks of the Easter Holidays so have some fun and remember to be helpful around the house!

I will be updating the home learning after the holidays with new activities to do each day. Please email the office if you need any support and I will give you a call to help.

Hopefully see you soon, Miss Clear.

Here is some home learning in case there is a school closure or your child has to go into self isolation.

  • Our current theme learning is based on Anglo-Saxons. We have learned about their invasion, village life and names, artefacts and been a trip to Somerset Rural Life Museum. Create a poster or leaflet about Anglo-Saxons to share with the class.
  • Within the activity booklet there are lots of activities revising our learning this term (fractions, multiplication and division, fronted adverbials, parenthesis and comprehension) and some new learning on Roman Numerals. Try to complete an activity for maths, reading, writing plus a practical activity each day.

You do not need to print the activities out; you can record them however you like (paper has been sent home if you would like to use it. We would love to see any activities you have completed once you have returned to school.

Most of the learning is revision so you shoud be able to complete it. The new learning is about 'Roman Numerals'. Below are some Roman Numberals to help you complete the challenges.
