What have we been up to?

We have kicked started our multiplication and division unit by exploring the use of arays to solve calculations. All children are now drawing their own arrays or solving sums mentally. We are pleased all our handwork on the 2s 3s 5s and 10 times tables is paying off!! Well done Mars Class :)

We had a very busy last week, proving what we know about 2d and 3d shapes. We used tally charts to record shapes found in everyday objects. We also described the properties of each shape allowing us to compare differences and similarities.

Massive thank you to all those who have helped learn lines for our Christmas production of 'The Grinch!' We cannot wait to share it with you all.

WOW! What amazing homework projects! Thank you for your help and support - we have had some fantastic boards games, poster presentations, times tables and more!

What a busy week!

We are continuing our work on Somerset Legends - we have got to know, retold and adapted the legend 'The giants of frogs hill.'

 Now we are preparing to write our very own Willowdown Legends!

In maths we have completed our addition and subtraction loop. We have enjoyed beating the teachers with our quick mental addition and subtraction.  We are much more confident in adding and taking away 2 two digit numbers mentally! :)

Miss Baker got married at the weekend - we are now getting used to calling her Mrs Underwood - it is a little strange!

 

NOTICE: Friday 4th November

On Friday 4th November the children have been invited to share their lanterns in the parade at the fair fields.

Children are asked to meet at  the youth centre in Bridgwater at 5.30pm.

There will then be short walk followed by the parade with everyone to fair field.

Mars Class have had a creative experience today. We were met by Simon who came and taught use how to make lanterns using willow and bamboo. Our creation are going to be shown at the fire works display on bonfire night. More information will be sent home tomorrow :). It was a brilliant experience for every body involved!

We have been practicing place value using our dines. We can tell you which digit is for the tens and the ones in a two digit number. We really are trying hard to spell the numbers correctly too! Well done Mars Class :)
