Enoying the cold weather!!!!

we enjoyed exploring the outdoors, we looked at our breath in the air and we found lots of ice which we explored and discussed how it got there!

Chinese New Year

We have been celebrating Chinese New Year!

We have been making dragon masks and practicing our dragon dance, we are getting very good at moving in response to music.

As part of our celebrations we have been tasting new foods and talking about likes and dislikes.

We have enjoyed listening to the story of the animals race and how it came about that the year was named after an animal. This year it is the year of the Rooster.

Traditional stories

We have looked at the Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks to start our theme on Traditional Stories.

We have looked at the number 3 and sorted by size- big, middle sized and little.

We have printed with shapes and painted our own characters. We have acted out our story using props and instruments to represent the characters.

Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday)

We celebrated Pancake Day by making and tasting Pancakes. We also watched a story on the interactive screen that told us all about why we do celebrate this day.

The pancakes were yummy!!

World Book Day

We had great fun dressing up as our favourite characters for World Book Day. We had Spiderman, Elsa, Batman ..............and more!

Tasting porridge like Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

We tasted porridge at café time, some of us liked it and others didn't!

It was good to challenge ourselves to try new things.

Magic Porridge Pot

This week we have been doing the Magic Porridge Pot. As we had already tasted porridge we decided to make oat cookies instead!

We talked about weight and measure and we had to follow a recipe.

Mark making

We have been enjoying mark making inside and outside using a range of media.

We are beginning to understand that when we make circles and lines we can make a recognisable picture and many of us can now say what we are drawing and talk about our work.

Under the Sea

We have had lots of fun with our Under the Sea theme.

We have acted out the story of the Rainbow fish with props and masks, we have made our own masks with our work experience student and also made a 'Giant' octopus!

We have explored different sea creatures in the water and we have also 'grown' our own sea creatures as part of out experiment, we recorded how much they had grown by measuring.

We made jelly fish and printed fish scales with celery sticks.

When we had hot days we had lots of water play outside and we shared Kobi's water pistol in a game of squirt chase....it was lots of fun and cool!
