Challenges

Bronze

The story of 20  ... Children need to be able to recall the story of 20 in order. They will be asked what the story of 20 is and will need to respond saying 0 + 20 = 20, 1 + 19 = 20 ... all the way until 20 + 0 = 20 for their bronze award.

To achieve silver.

Children will be asked to say pairs of numbers that make 20. e.g. 19 and 1, 7 and 13, 11 and 9.

To achieve gold.

This gets complicated with new vocabulary! Children need to be able to answer questions using difference and sum. For example. Question: what is the difference between 20 and 16? Answer 4. Question: what is the sum of 12 and 8.  Answer 20

Once the story of 20 has been achieved please begin practicing the story of 11.

Don't forget to write your child's name up when they are ready for their challenge!
